Domestic Violence/Assault & Battery

Criminal Defense Lawyer with Over 18 Years of Experience

If you have been a party to a domestic situation involving abuse or violence, you want an experienced attorney to protect your interests. Once an allegation of domestic violence has been made, the process can unfold very quickly. In almost every instance, whether the victim recants or not, the police will arrest the alleged offender. You want a lawyer who understands the law and process and who has successfully helped others in similar circumstances.

At the office of William J. Hernon, III, Attorney at Law, in Lynn, Massachusetts, I have protected the rights of criminal defendants throughout the Greater Boston area and the North Shore since 1990, including people charged with domestic violence and/or assault and battery. I bring a comprehensive knowledge of criminal law and procedure to clients, and work hard to provide efficient and effective counsel to people from all walks of life. Contact my office or call me at 781-780-3012/toll-free at 866-688-6587 to arrange a free initial consultation.

Experienced Defense of Domestic Violence Charges

I represent individuals who have been charged with domestic abuse or violence, including people arrested for violating a restraining order. I also work with men or women who want to apply for a restraining order, based on past abuse or threats of domestic violence. Often, these situations arise during, or as a result of, a divorce proceeding or other family related matter. Because of the emotional issues that are present, I make a point to work closely with clients, with opposing counsel, and with the court to ensure an open line of communication and that all of the elements of the case have been disclosed and addressed.

Defending You on Assault and Battery Charges

If you have been arrested and charged with assault and battery, including domestic assault and battery, I will carefully examine the facts, evidence and circumstances surrounding your case, so that I can prepare the best argument for the reduction or dismissal of charges. I will examine whether a self-defense argument can be made or whether you were protecting a third person. I work closely with a number of experienced investigators, including a former state trooper, and know how to gather and present evidence to protect your rights.

To set up a free initial consultation, contact me or call my office at 781-780-3012/toll-free at 866-688-6587. I am located near the Lynn City Hall and the Lynn District Court. Evening and weekend hours are available by special request. I accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
